The Problem
New Port Credit waterfront build wanted a sculptural feature staircase as the centerpiece of a double-height entry.
Our Solution
Stamped engineering for a cantilever floating-tread design, anchored into a 1/2" steel plate spine wall hidden behind drywall. Treads cantilever 36" off the wall on concealed brackets. White-oak treads finished with a UV-resistant matte oil.
Outcome
A staircase that reads as floating wood treads against a clean wall — the steel structure is invisible. Holds full residential live load with zero deflection.
